This film project was first just a 47 minute very dry biography on Eileen Ford and how she built the most iconic brand to support the rights of models in American fashion history.   But it was also about the man from Paris who´s upstart agency Elite first betrayed her and then challenged her for supremacy in the modeling world 

 

Our 47-minute bio now has so much more potential than to be only that.  We are very blessed to have the last filmed conversations with both Eileen Ford from her grand house in New Jersey, and John Casablanca who we filmed with in Villars Switzerland only weeks before he passed away  

 

Gracious, polite, insightful, that´s what they both were, accept in John´s case he was even endearing in his reflections on his and Eileens story, her not totally so much, but even in her feisty take no prisoners style, she was still always elegant, and she shared the truth in a style only she could. 

 

We believe that these interviews will give the world a lasting and truly warm impression of one of the perhaps misunderstood men, a man with a reputation that was the perfect foil for Eileen and her image as the strict matriarch of the modeling world, and of Eileen as well, although her last words to us were, ¨You better not just make me look good in this film, you better tell the truth¨.

This is her story (and his) with all their color and chemistry, but the narrative is equally about us, about our obsessions and deceptions, and in many ways the damage of us all in a world that sells its children for sex. ​
